🌟 Happy Principals Month! 🌟

This October, we are taking a moment to celebrate our wonderful principal, Mrs. Bristow! She is a strong leader and creates a positive learning environment for students and staff alike. Thank you for your heart, hard work, and the love your pour into Schlather Intermediate School. #PrincipalsMonth #LeadershipMatters #ThankAPrincipal #WeAreSCUC

Clarie Bristow always knew she would put her Math and Chemistry degrees to work, first as a teacher, and now as the principal of Elaine S. Schlather Intermediate School. In the classroom, Ms. Bristow taught students at Byron P. Steele and Samuel Clemens High School. Now, as the leader of Schlather Intermediate, she is building a school culture of positivity and inclusion to create a positive force analogous to the mixture of vinegar and baking soda. The mathematics comes in as she works with her staff to be a multiplier for learning and social-emotional development for all students as well.

“I was a life that was changed by the inspiration of my fourth grade teacher,” Bristow said. “I do this hard work every day as an investment in our future generations. I love supporting growth for all staff and students at the campus level and ensuring every member of the team belongs.”

Shaped by experiences in her own life that included impactful teachers that sparked a desire for learning and service as well as being a member of the Marion High School state championship in basketball, Bristow’s plans to pay it forward at Schlather Intermediate. “It’s an opportunity to invest in our future and provide the hope my public education school teachers gave me.”

Mrs. Bristow is married and the mother of two children, Kylie and Caleb. She earned her aforementioned  Bachelor’s degree and her Master’s degree in School Administration from Angelo State University.

When asked about what students think about Mrs. Bristow, this was their responses:

-"We love her corny jokes- she is so cute!"

-"She actually understands us."

-"She is so nice and helps us when we are going through things... we know she cares about us."

-"She always laughs at our jokes and says hi to us in the hallways!"
