The SCUC Board of Trustees unanimously approved the recommendation to hire Stacy McWilliams as the new principal at Ray D. Corbett Junior High School during the called board meeting on June 4th.
McWilliams comes in with a head start at Corbett JHS, having served the last month of the 2023-24 school year as interim principal. She is entering her 24th year in education, eleven of them as a campus administrator. She graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science in 1998, and earned a Master of Science in Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2009.
“I am so honored to lead Corbett JH and I look forward to partnering with staff and parents as we build a foundation of excellence across our student programs and learning experiences,” said McWilliams, proud mother of three children who attend SCUC schools. Her husband, Greg, is the head basketball coach of the Clemens HS girls’ basketball team. “I am ready to bring energy, passion and innovation to my role as principal. I am truly excited about what we will achieve together as a school community."
