November is a month we give thanks. To celebrate, students in ALE made thankful trees as part of their science curriculum. They wrote down things they are thankful for, not just in November, but every day.
Congratulations to two of our Cougars, Bo Dubose and Luke Skarda, who are headed to the National All-State Select Championship this Friday. They will join players from 44 states along with British Columbia and Puerto Rico in Houston.

Mr. Carter and Mrs. Nieves's 7th grade honors science classes put their knowledge to the test this week! They tested their balloon powered cars to compare designs and overall speed. All of the students put in tremendous effort and did a great job with their cars.
Today was Election Day at Dobie! 🗳️ Students made their voices heard by voting for our Student Council President and Vice President. Each student had to verify they were registered before voting, and then proceeded to a booth to cast their ballots. After they completed their civic duty, voters got an "I voted" sticker. Early voting kicked off as soon as students arrived on campus, and regular voting took place during lunches. We hope our students enjoyed this glimpse into the democratic process!

Today was the last day of Red Ribbon Week. We had a dress-up day where students and staff dressed as each other. Everyone did a great job! We want to give a special shout-out to Carter J. who dressed up as all three Assistant Principals throughout the day! Looking at the outfits, it seems like there was a clear favorite 😉
🚨IMPACT AID FORMS ARE GOING HOME ON MONDAY🚨
Did you know that filling out the Federal Impact Aid forms can make a big difference for our schools? These forms help secure vital funding that supports programs, resources, and facilities for our students. 📚✏️
By completing these forms, you’re helping ensure that every child has access to a high-quality education. Let’s work together to make our schools stronger! 💪
Don’t forget to submit your forms by Thursday, November 7th! The first 7th grade and 8th grade classes to turn in all their forms will win a prize. Thank you for your support! 🙌
Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday celebrated in November 1 and 2, honoring deceased loved ones.
A key element of this celebration is the ofrenda, which families create in their homes or cemeteries. Ofrendas are adorned with photographs, favorite foods and drinks, and personal items of the deceased, along with marigold flowers, candles, and paper picado (colorful paper banners).
Thank you to everyone who sent in photos for our ofrenda to honor their ancestors.
Happy Halloween from Dobie!
