Nestled on the northeast side of San Antonio, SCUC ISD spans a 73-square mile area across Bexar and Guadalupe counties. Steeped in tradition yet forward-thinking, our district has maintained its small-town atmosphere while embracing growth and innovation.

With a student body of nearly 15,000 learners, SCUC ISD is comprised of eight elementary schools, three intermediate schools for fifth- and sixth-graders, two junior high schools, two traditional high schools, a non-traditional high school, and a disciplinary alternative education campus. Despite our size, our dedication to fostering a sense of belonging for every student, parent, and staff member remains unwavering.

Our journey began in the early 1900s as the Schertz School District, eventually merging with Cibolo in the mid-1930s to become the foundation of SCUC ISD. In 1961, we proudly attained the status of an "Independent School District," later incorporating Universal City into our name in 1967.
