It is with such great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Byron P. Steele High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community in this capacity. I take full responsibility in sustaining Steele’s culture of high expectations and achievements; our students, staff, and community deserve the best and that is what we will continue to deliver. Steele has amazing teachers and staff, wonderful students, high quality instruction, thriving CTE programs, high performing extracurricular programs, and an abundance of avenues for ALL students to get involved. I look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders to continue elevating Byron P. Steele High School; it is imperative that there be a strong partnership between school and home, and I look forward to fostering strong relationships with all of you to support our students’ learning, growth, and overall success.

SCUC ISD is also home to my wife, “Coach L”, who is a PE teacher at Wiederstein Elementary School, and my two sons, Jace and Jonah, who are both proud Wiederstein Wolverines that can’t wait to walk the halls of Byron P. Steele.

Prior to this announcement, I served as the Associate Principal under the amazing leadership of Mrs. Jana Cervantes. Prior to, from 2021 to 2023, I served as the High School Vice Principal, Campus Discipline Coordinator, and DAEP Principal for Marion ISD. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from UT - Permian Basin in 2009 and a Masters in Education Leadership from West Texas A&M in 2017.

I am eager to meet ALL members of our school community and I am willing to listen to your concerns and aspirations and answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to reach out to me via email or better yet, come visit with me at Steele High School!

Skyward is where students and parents can find grades, report cards, attendance records, class schedules, and graduation roadmaps.

Parents can effectively monitor their student's account balance through the use of email and push notifications. By receiving reminders about low balances, parents can ensure that they never overlook a payment and that their students always maintain sufficient funds in their account.

All families are sent registration emails at the start of the school year, but they can also register without this message. Families can visit www.parentsquare.com/sign in to register with either the email or phone number they have on file with their child’s school.
