Julie Hardy’s motivation has always been simple, first as a teacher, and now as the first-year principal at Cibolo Valley Elementary School. “Seeing the students overcome challenges and grow as human beings.” That conviction has seen her through a teaching career that began in 1999, and led to many success stories.

Hardy’s journey led her to accept leadership positions at Comal ISD, before returning to SCUC in 2022 as an assistant principal at Corbett Junior High School. She was named the new principal at Cibolo Valley Elementary in May after SCUC Board Trustees unanimously approved her recommendation for the position.

“My greatest responsibility is making sure teachers have everything they need to be successful to help students become successful,” Hardy says. Daily engagements with the entire Cibolo Valley community will also be a point of emphasis. “By making the time to develop relationships with staff, students and families, I will work to provide communication and keep everyone informed.”

Hardy is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood, and a Master of Education in Leadership from Concordia University.
