Military Support Specialist
Corbett has a high percentage of military-connected students. To provide support to this unique population, Corbett has a Military Support Specialist (MSS) on campus. The role of the MSS is to ease transitions, promote wellness, provide support, and assist military-connected students and their families. The MSS for Corbett is Ms. Hidy.
Ms. Hidy was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, and has PCS’ed many times. Military culture is unique, and Ms. Hidy personally understands the impact of PCS, TDY, deployments, DEERS, TriCare, MIC3, and more acronyms. Ms. Hidy has the experience and many military family training courses to understand that each situation is unique.
In addition to all the military certificates, Ms. Hidy has a Master’s of Education and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration. She has worked with students in different capacities for over 17 years. She strives to understand the challenges the military life creates and tries to find possible solutions.
She understands the benefits and challenges of being a military family and she truly enjoys working with students to feel connected and appreciate the unique aspects of military life. Ms. Hidy joined the SCUCISD team during the summer of 2019
