Amy Sirizzotti has one overarching goal for every student at Samuel Clemens High School, where she has served as principal since August of 2020. “Ensuring that whoever enters Clemens is a better person for it and that I may have had some part in helping the teachers, staff and students grow during their time here,” Sirizzotti says.
She came to Clemens HS as an assistant principal in 2016, later becoming associate principal before fully taking the reins four years later. Then, and now, Sirizzotti views her role as one of service.
“My role is to facilitate the various needs, whether physical, academic, or social-emotional of all the students, staff and community on my campus,” she says.
Prior to coming to SCUC, Sirizzotti enjoyed a distinguished career as a middle school teacher and coach at NEISD, later evolving into an assistant principal and ultimately as the district’s Gifted and Talented coordinator. Her mastery, particularly as a teacher, did not go unnoticed, as she was chosen as the district’s Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching award winner in 2008 at Tejeda Middle School. Sirizzotti then earned the H-E-B Excellence in Education award, all while juggling being a single mother and working toward a Master’s degree.
“This moment was definitely pivotal for me in terms of solidifying my commitment to the people I serve inside and outside of the classroom,” she says.
Sirizzotti has a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Baylor University, and her Master’s degree is from St. Mary’s University in Education Leadership. Her daughter, Zoey, is now a senior at Samuel Clemens High School. Sirizzotti also proudly lists herself as daughter to Margie and Joe and little sister to a special needs sister, Jennifer.
